What We Do

Our Services

Everything Studio 48 Performing Arts Center can do for you in Brunswick and the surrounding ME area.

Music Voice

Private voice instruction from beginner through advanced — classical, musical theatre, contemporary, and audition preparation.

Director Rebecca Beck brings a career as a Boston Symphony soprano soloist and Tanglewood alumna to every voice lesson. Students have advanced to conservatory programs at Juilliard, Boston Conservatory, and the New England Conservatory of Music.

Music Instrumental

Private lessons in piano, cello, drums, and violin — for students of every age and experience level.

Instructors integrate decades of performance expertise with the methods that work for today's students. Whether your child is starting their first scale or your adult learner is returning to an instrument after years away, we meet you where you are.

Dance Classes

Ballet, contemporary, jazz, and musical-theatre dance — taught in a supportive, non-competitive studio environment.

Dance at Studio 48 emphasizes technique, expression, and joy in equal measure. Class levels range from preschool through teen and adult, with recitals and performance opportunities throughout the year.

Theatre Classes

Acting, scene study, audition prep, and stagecraft — for young performers through adult learners.

Theatre programs grew directly out of Rebecca's Children's Youth Theater work at the Chocolate Church Arts Stage in Bath. Students develop voice, body, and ensemble skills through scene work, monologue coaching, and full productions.

Musical Theatre

Where voice, acting, and dance come together — the discipline that built Broadway, taught from the inside.

Director Rebecca Beck has performed Nellie Forbush in South Pacific, the Acid Queen in Tommy, and Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof, alongside opera roles in Cosi Fan Tutti, La Boheme, and The Ballad of Baby Doe. Students train in the full musical-theatre toolkit.

Freedom Arts Program

Adapted arts instruction for students with autism, ADHD, and behavioral challenges — designed around the student, not the diagnosis.

Rebecca has specialized in working with students on the autism spectrum and with behavioral differences for years. The Freedom Arts Program builds discipline, self-expression, and confidence through music, movement, and theatre in a sensory-aware environment.

Pageant Coaching

Interview prep, talent coaching, presentation skills, and stage presence — from a former Miss Maine America.

Whether you're competing in your first local pageant or preparing for state and national stages, pageant coaching at Studio 48 covers every element of the modern competition format.

Summer Program

Intensive workshops and weekly classes across music, dance, theatre, and musical theatre throughout the summer months.

Summer is the ideal time for new students to try a program with no school-year commitment, or for returning students to dive deeper. Sessions run weekly with capstone performances built into most programs.
